Does $1.99 cover both platforms?+
Yes. The one-time purchase includes the Mac and Windows downloads. They have the same four original sound profiles. Windows is an early preview, with device testing still to come.
What happens after I buy?+
Checkout returns you to a private download page for both builds. Keep that page’s link to download again. Thock doesn’t require an in-app account or license activation.
How do I install it?+
Mac: unzip the app, move it to Applications, and allow Input Monitoring in System Settings. Windows: run the executable and choose Install, or choose No to use it as a portable app. The current Mac build is not notarized and the Windows preview is unsigned.
Are these recordings of real switches?+
Thock uses original synthesized sounds shaped to feel deep, tactile, crisp, or playful. These are its own sound profiles, rather than recordings or replicas of specific keyboard brands.
Does it read what I type?+
The desktop apps handle physical key codes to choose a sound and light a key. They don’t assemble text, store keystrokes, or have network requests. The website demo only responds while you interact with this page; checkout is processed separately by Stripe.
